David Osborn was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, in 1964 and raised in rural, southwestern Arkansas. He learned to fish, hunt, and trap at an early age. He spent countless hours catching snakes, and playing in a nearby creek with his pet raccoon. He learned to appreciate nature and all of its wonders. David attended college at Arkansas Tech University and Texas Tech University, earning degrees in Wildlife Biology. He was employed as a Wildlife Biologist for the Florida Game and Fresh Water Fish Commission and the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission. He is currently employed as a Wildlife Research Coordinator at the University of Georgia in Athens. His duties include management of the University’s white-tailed deer research facility and coordination of various field-based research projects. He has authored or co-authored about 30 wildlife-related technical publications. When not working, he enjoys hunting squirrels and white-tailed deer. He and his wife, Sandra, own eight dogs, of which four are squirrel dogs.
